Rural

For this project we had to display pictures of rural areas. My pictures were mostly taken in the forest or around a body of water. The areas where I found these images at seemed boring in real life but when you take a picture of it it became quite stunning. I learned from this project that outside photos look better if they have a shadow or reflection.

Paul Strand

Paul Strand was an iconic photographer during the 1900's. Paul Strand was known as a straight photographer. Which meant his pictures looked like they came straight out of a camera. What was astonishing about Paul Strand's photos were that during his time was that during .his time there was any photo editing technology. Which is why he is considered the grand daddy of photography.

For this project we had to take a photo of buildings and show interesting shadows and light. This kind of photography is called urban photography. I took these photos around the high school which had a lot of stunning urban views. From doing this project I learned that simple picture of a building can become a very beautiful photo.

Straight Photos
Roy Kirwa
A
3/31/14

The purpose of this project was to make the photo look like its right from the camera. That's why its called straight photography. We took these pictures at the machine shop and made sure we got close up with the object. This project taught me how to use the rule of thirds, and using all of the frame.

Bad Photos
Dark picture of the gym

A camera shake picture of the flowers.

A bad white balance photo of the wall

A bright picture of the school chimney

An obstructed picture of the little kids.

For this project we had to take a bad photo on purpose, to show its all right to not always have the best picture. My pictures contained things that already beautiful such as the of the chimney or the flower and made them into bad photos. What I learned from this lesson is, that I just have fun when I am taking photos.

Story Images
Living on the Edge

This assignment is about how to tell a story or action through your pictures.
My object was a grain focuser which I neatly placed on things like door hinges and stair rails. To depict how daring the object is. If i had to do anything different I would probably have a better focus on my object. What learned through taking these pictures is that a photo has a thousand words.
